Cast Change: Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris 2024 Japan Tour (February 2024)

We have just learned from the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris that Amandine Albisson is regrettably unable to perform in Le Lac des cygnes on Sunday 11 February due to health reasons. Étoile Sae Eun Park will now replace her to dance in the role of Odette/Odile with Jérémy-Loup Quer.

We apologize to our valued audiences who have been anticipating the appearance of Amandine Albisson, but appreciate everyone's kind understanding. At the same time, we hope you will enjoy the wonderful duet by Sae Eun Park and Jérémy-Loup Quer.

Statement from Director of Dance José Martinez
It is with regret that I announce that Amandine Albisson, Étoiles of the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris, has had to withdraw from the Company's upcoming tour to Japan for personal reasons. We are sorry about this cancellation which is a disappointing news for our Japanese audience.

On the other hand, I am pleased to announce our Étoile Sae Eun Park will replace Amandine Albisson. Sae Eun Park will dance the performance of Le Lac des cygnes on 11 February with our "premier danseur" Jérémy-Loup Quer. We are sure this will be an exciting and beautiful performance and a wonderful opportunity to discover a talented and promising artist beside one of our Étoiles who has been acclaimed in this role.

Béjart Ballet Lausanne 2024 Japan Tour (September - October 2024)

We are delighted to announce that the Béjart Ballet Lausanne returns to Japan for the 19th time, and for the first time since 2021.

In Tokyo, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne will present two programs: Wien, Wien, nur du Allein and a mixed program. Choreographed by Maurice Béjart, Wien, Wien, nur du Allein was premiered in 1982 by the legendary dancers including Jorge Donn, Marcia Haydée of the Stuttgart Ballet and a young Gil Roman, and its Japan premiere in 1985 caused a great sensation. After a long absence, the ballet was revived to critical acclaim by Artistic Director Gil Roman with a new décor in 2022 in Lausanne. Details for the mixed program will be announced at a later date.

Another monumental work by Maurice Béjart Ballet for Life set to the music of the British rock band Queen and Mozart, a long-loved ballet also in Japan, comes to Nishinomiya and Sapporo, following the show-stopping performances on the Company's last Japan tour in 2021.
