The Royal Ballet 2023 Japan Tour (24 June-2 July)
The tour will open at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan with A Royal Celebration, a mixed programme illustrating the dazzling range of The Royal Ballet's repertoire and the brilliance and versatility of its acclaimed dancers. The programme will be composed of "Diamonds" from Jewels by George Balanchine, A Month in the Country by Frederick Ashton, For Four by Christopher Wheeldon and Prima, a new work by Valentino Zucchetti which received its world premiere earlier this month at Covent Garden.
Following the three performances of A Royal Celebration, Kenneth MacMillan's Romeo and Juliet, one of the staple ballets of The Royal Ballet, will be danced with stellar dancers in a different cast each day, over seven performances at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and one performance at Festival Hall in Osaka. The quintessential dramatic qualities of the Company will be demonstrated in MacMillan's powerful interpretation of William Shakespeare's enduring classic.
Each and every performance is not to be missed.

Performance Date, Tickets and Program
Legendary mezzo-soprano Waltraud Meier will perform a farewell concert in Tokyo at Suntory Hall on Tuesday 14 March 2023.
The performance history of German operas in the latter half of the 20th century cannot be told without the name of Waltraud Meier. She has arguably been one of the best Isoldes, Sieglindes and Kundrys beyond the vocal range of a mezzo-soprano.
Joined by baritone Samuel Hasselhorn, a rising star, and pianist Joseph Breinl, a long-time friend of hers, Meier will sing gems of the German lied.
It will be an unforgettable soirée not to be missed.
