Ballet Holiday in Ueno no Mori is a ballet festival held during Golden Week in Ueno no Mori, Tokyo. Last year, its second edition welcomed 78 thousand people to enjoy a wide variety of ballet related events including performances of The Dream by The Tokyo Ballet.

This year, The Tokyo Ballet will bring exciting, enthralling Act III of Swan Lake by Vladimir Burmeister, for My First Ballet Series, at the 3rd Ballet Holiday in Ueno no Mori. An introductory talk will precede the performance to help the young audience follow the story.

Join the Ballet Holiday in Ueno no Mori, packed with exciting ballet related spectacles and events. It is a magical and memorable way to start off Golden Week.

Prince Siegfried is told by his mother the Queen to find a bride at the royal party the following evening. He does not want to and goes hunting on the lake shore, where he meets girl-swans among whom is Odette. They fall in love. Odette tells him that she was turned into swan by the evil magician Rothbart and that the only way the spell can be broken is if a man, pure in heart, pledges his love to her. The following day, Rothbart and his daughter Odile appear at the party, and Odile, who looks just like Odette, seduces Prince Siegfried. In front of Prince Siegfried, dancers from around the world perform national dances, but they are also under the spell of Rothbart.
