Introduction
The Japan Premiere of the Paris Opera Ballet Directed by Aurélie Dupont

Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris (The Paris Opera Ballet), the oldest with its history of 365 years and one of the most prestigious companies in the world of ballet, has now entered a new era with etoile dancer Aurélie Dupon who has taken her position as the Paris Opera's Director of Dance since August 2016.

On its Japan Tour 2017, which is to be Dupont's directorial debut in Japan, the company will give total of ten performances of two different programs, La Sylphide and 《Grand Gala》. La Sylphide is a masterpiece of the French ballet which was premiered by the company in the 19th century to bring about a crucial breakthrough in the history of ballet. 《Grand Gala》 features works by two great masters of the 20th century, Theme and Variations by Balanchine and Other Dances by Robbins, and last but not least, Daphnis et Chloé, created by Millepied for the company and premiered in 2014.

You will surely be intoxicated by the illustrous world of ballet, guided not only by Director and etoile Aurélie Dupont but also the world-class etoiles, young generations, corps de ballet and sublime sets and costumes.
